As American Muslims, the strength of our communities have always been tied to the service we provide to others. We at the W.D. Mohammed Islamic Center have a history of service in East Greensboro, and it all started with our first Ramadan Iftar in June of 2017. As we’ve continued to grow, so has our commitment to helping the community we call home. In addition to community forums, voter registration drives, and hot meal distributions, we are now happy to announce our latest initiative—a pantry. On March 1, 2020, a group of dedicated Believers came together and created Halimah’s Pantry. Named after the wet nurse of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), Halimah’s Panty is a tribute to the woman who cared for the young Muhammad and carries with it the community idea that “From a Little there was Much.
